Love the textures you get from the washes...so controlled. How much do you plan..and how much is spontaneous?

I've never been able to achieve anything on this level with paint. Beautiful work.

It's really interesting how high contrast you can get; it makes you realize that with watercolor, the paper is the light.

Stunning, as always.

They light in your paintings is amaising. Do you paint plein-air or in a studio?

Beautiful as always with those soft colors. I have a question. When you lay down your washes do you mask the paper so that the paint holds the shape or do you just control it with your brush?

I control it only with my brush but I used to use masking fluid.

Ah ok, thanks for answering. I asked because I use masking fluid and sometimes I get weird edges but yours look so smooth. :)
