What's so outstanding about this painting is the clearness of the painting. The majority of watercolor work I see is pretty much *stuffed* with detail, which is not neccessarily a bad thing, but it does get a little tiring for the eyes. With this, though, the simplicity of the scene and the sky makes our eyes automatically go for the buildings and the waterfront to the right.
I think the street could've needed a little stronger shade because it felt a little lost and washy.
